OUR COMMUNITY

At Taree Leagues Sports Club, we believe in the power of community. That’s why we’re proud to support a wide range of organisations that make Taree a vibrant and thriving place. Sure, we love our sports teams like the United Cricket Club and the Mustangs Australian Rules Football Club. They bring us together to cheer, sweat, and celebrate. But we also know that there’s more to a community than just game days.

That’s why we’re also dedicated to supporting groups like the Manning Valley Pipes and Drums. Their music fills our streets with tradition and reminds us of our shared history.

We’re also honoured to stand behind the Manning Valley National Servicemen’s Association. These brave men and women have given so much to our country, and we’re committed to supporting them in any way we can.

And of course, we believe in investing in the future. That’s why we’re proud to partner with various training groups in the community. These programs help people develop new skills, find jobs, and reach their full potential. When we see our community members thrive, we all thrive.

So, whether you’re a die-hard footy fan, a history buff, or someone looking for a helping hand, Taree Leagues Sports Club is here for you. We’re more than just a club; we’re a family. And we’re committed to making Taree a place where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered.

G’day!

It’s your mates from the Manning Valley Australian Football Club (MVAFC) here, calling all Taree locals who love footy, fun, and community spirit!

We’re more than just a footy club; we’re a family. We reckon Aussie Rules ain’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. And we’re passionate about sharing that life with everyone, from your ankle-biters to your seasoned veterans.

Think you’re too young, too old, or too rusty to give AFL a crack? Think again! Our NABAFL Auskick program is a ripper way for kids aged 5 to 12 to learn the ropes in a fun and friendly environment. Starting in March, we’ve got heaps of activities and drills that’ll have them bouncing Sherries like superstars in no time.

For the bigger kids (that’s you, adults!), we’ve got an awesome AFL Masters NSW team that kicks off in April. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just looking for a bit of mateship and exercise, we’ve got a team for you. We play both friendly and competitive matches, so you can choose your own adventure.

And the best part? You don’t need any fancy gear or experience to join the MVAFC family. Just rock up to Johnny Martin Oval on Mondays and Thursdays from 6.00pm to 7.00pm, and we’ll welcome you with open arms (and maybe a snag or two).

But wait, there’s more! We’re always on the lookout for legends to join our team in other ways too. Whether you want to coach, umpire, volunteer, or even just bring the cheer squad, we’d love to have you. Every role, big or small, helps us keep this great footy club humming.

So, what are you waiting for? Come on down and join the MVAFC crew! We’ll teach you a thing or two about footy, and show you what it means to be part of a top-notch community.

Taree United Cricket Club: A Legacy of Unity and Success

Taree United Cricket Club has been a beacon of sportsmanship and talent in the MidCoast region. Our story began with the amalgamation of Wherrol Flat Cricket Club, bringing years of experience and passion for the game together. This unity fuelled our early success, culminating in a remarkable 2012/13 season where all three grades reached the Grand Finals, with the 2nd Grade taking home the premiership.

Driven by a commitment to growth and collaboration, we joined forces with Cundletown Cricket Club in 2013. This merger solidified our position as a leading cricket force in the area, attracting talented players and fostering a strong sense of community. Recognising the need for a distinct identity, we adopted the name “United Cricket Club,” symbolising the collective spirit that defined our club.

In 2020, we embarked on a new chapter, proudly adopting the name “Taree United Cricket Club.” This change reflected our commitment to representing the broader Taree region and attracting players from all corners of the community. Today, we stand as a symbol of inclusivity and excellence, offering cricketing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.

At Taree United, we are more than just a cricket club; we are a family. We are passionate about nurturing young talent, providing a platform for seasoned players to shine, and fostering a love for the game that transcends generations. We believe in sportsmanship, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence, both on and off the field.

Join us and be part of our legacy. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, we welcome you with open arms. We offer a supportive environment, skilled coaching, and the chance to be part of something special.

Together, we are Taree United.
